Our founder’s story started at Stanford in 2001, identifying the questions that would later provide the foundations for pioneering executive education at the world’s leading business schools and the publication of Sustaining Executive Performance by Financial Times Press in 2014.

Senior in-house counsel have a unique set of pain-points we know can be addressed by focusing on performance, habits, leadership and culture, areas in which we have worked with the world’s leading organisations for over a decade.

GCWN is about turning wellbeing into a leadership asset. We focus on practical tools and insights that help GCs sustain high performance under pressure. Everything we do links directly to strategic outcomes for legal leaders and their organizations.

Safety

GCWN offers a confidential, GC-only environment to decompress and share openly. This psychological safety allows reflection, learning, and the ability to return to work clearer and stronger.

Joy

Leadership is serious work, but joy fuels resilience. Our workshops and community embrace storytelling, humour, and lightness—because energy and engagement translate to better leadership performance.

Connection

GCWN connects senior in-house counsel across regions and sectors in a trusted, curated network. These relationships are a source of clarity, perspective, and resilience, sustaining performance over the long term.

Our Channels

Our current core modes of delivery are shown opposite. We will continue to explore and co-create new channels that add the most value to our membership.

  • The core of our delivery includes face-to-face leadership development workshops in each chapter, offering members the chance to connect deeply once per quarter. All workshops have a learning (content) and networking element. Themes include resilience, energy, habits and team culture. No photos, recording or social media posting takes place, ensuring these are true private safe experiences for senior professionals to bring their authentic and vulnerable selves.   • Virtual sessions once per quarter to re-enforce learning and connection while also offering the opportunity to increase audience size. Themes include sleep, mindfulness and movement.

  • Our monthly edit “Inside GCWN” is exclusively available via email to network members and includes updates, insights and interviews to keep you connected to your peers and active on your own wellbeing journey.

  • Members have the option of joining a light-touch WhatsApp group with periodic pulse check-in’s and peer encouragement. Currently active in the UK, Spain, Ireland, and the Middle East.

GCWN is powered by Chief Wellbeing Officer (CWO)—a global thought-leadership platform founded in 2007 that helps leaders sustain performance under pressure. Through CWO, our work with organisations such as Google, Salesforce, and Santander, and teaching at business schools including IESE, IMD and CEIBS, has helped shape the modern dialogue on sustainable leadership.
